Family Haps
It's still dark outside and here I am blogging. I woke up around 5:30 to the sounds of a barking seal in my home. Liam started sounding a little congested yesterday and overnight it has turned him into a seal. So, off to the doctor we'll go today. Brooke is still recovering from the virus she's had since last Thursday. I had to pick her up from school and she was miserable until Saturday when she began to perk up again. Sunday we were off to church and Monday she was feeling wiped out and yesterday she started running a fever again.
Today school is canceled because of icy roads so I won't have to make the decision of whether to send her or let her stay home from school. By the way, do any of you moms hate making that decision? It's not really as simple as whether or not your kid has a fever. There are a thousand other symptoms to consider and you know what? I'm not a nurse!! I feel like a complete ignoramus in this area of parenting. I sent her to school Monday when I should have kept her home and she was just absolutely worn out when she got home. I felt really bad for the poor girl. Hopefully my children won't require counseling because of bad decisions like these I make. In fact, I'm praying that God will wipe these things from their memories. I need one of those clickers that Tommy Lee Jones had in Men In Black - you know, like a memory re-setter. Oh well, through God and counseling my children might learn to lead normal, productive lives.
Scrappin' News
Well, alot has gone on in the last few days. First off, two of the Creative Teams that I was on have disbanded. Jomi has decided to quit designing because of health reasons. I was sad to see her resign from The Digichick but she needed to get her life back ( being a designer can be quite time consuming). So, she's gonna focus on family and scrapping and maybe come back to designing down the road sometime.
Cori Gammon is still designing but has decided to discontinue her Creative Team. CT's require alot of administration which takes alot of time away from the designing side. I'm not really sure how these girls design when they have full time jobs and families to take care of. They are busy, busy, busy!! Anyway, I'm still a huge Cori fan and I'll be keeping an eye on her store at The DigiChick also.
I am now on the CT for Chrissy Williams over at Digital Candy. She designs awesome templates and I'm really excited to start using them. Templates are THE way to go when you are in a scrap funk, when you're wanting to get pages done quickly or when you just need a spark to get you going. The great thing about templates is that you can completely turn them into your own design - they are just a starting point. So, be on the lookout for some LOs using Chrissy's templates.
Kristin CB has an adorable new kit called Chit Chat. I used it in this LO for one of the Sweet Shoppe Cookie Challenges. Here is the LO I created with it and here are the credits.
Here's one more LO I'll share with you. This is also for another Cookie Decorating Challenge at The Sweet Shoppe (did I mention that you can earn points from participating in the challenges and then you get a discount coupon for products depending on how many points you earn each month.) But I digress. These pictures were taken when Liam was 6 mos and Brooke was 2. I just love these pictures but I kept forgetting about them. I came across them the other day and decided to wait no more in scrapping them. Credits here.
Well, that's it for now. Before you go, check out my blog links - I've added a few that you won't want to miss!
